More Information about the Raffle and Amigos
AMIGOS DE LAS AMERICAS
Amigos is a not-for-profit, non governmental, and non religious organization that sends youth from across the United States every summer for six to eight weeks to a Latin American community along with one or two other volunteers to support the community in development and youth empowerment.
The organization was founded in 1965, when a group of students from Texas travelled to Honduras to administer polio vaccinations, since then the program has sent 24,383 volunteers to Latin America.
Each volunteer is trained extensively in cultural sensitivity, working cohesively with partners, Amigos values, and being an overall positive, efficient leader.
